Settlement in death of Jim Carrey's nephew

Rita Carrey has announced she's reached a settlement with the City of Hamilton regarding her lawsuit in the death of her son Marty Fournier - the nephew of actor Jim Carrey.
25-year-old Fournier was killed in a horrific crash involving a landscaping truck on Patterson Road nearly seven years ago. The flatbed came off the oncoming truck when it hit a tree stump, and flew into Fournier's car. Carrey says the city should have cut the tree stump to the ground. The city has paid Carrey, her late son's fiancee and other family members an un-disclosed sum that she calls ''a pittance... that mocks the immeasurable value of life''.
