Jim Carrey to Star in Summit Comedy 'Ricky Stanicky'

I just hope Steve Oedekerk is not directing this. It's not his cup of tea. He's not the greatest writer also, but I can live with that. Oedekerk might be good at writing jokes, but does not know how to round up a story. In the end, when it's a typical Carrey comedy, Jim saves the day with improvisation.

Thank you Veysel for the update. So, Steve Oedekerk is out, and the Farrellys will direct the movie instead ? I wonder if Jim is still attached and when will be announced.

It's great that Dr. Carrey is gonna do another movie. But I would

What’s next? What will you fight for now?

I’m not sure. There’s a couple of things I’m sniffing around. There’s one thing called Ricky Stanicky that I’m doing. These kids invent this character to take the blame when they get in trouble. “Who broke the window?” “Ricky Stanicky!” and now they’re adults, “Honey, I’ve got to go to Vegas, Ricky Stanicky is having a fundraiser.” Then this comes back to haunt them when the wives want to meet Ricky Stanicky.

And will we get to meet some poor schmuck who has to adopt that personality?

Yes. And it will probably be Jim Carrey.
