Best of 2016: I'm Dying Up Here
19 Dec 2016

By Eva Arajo (Web correspondent)

Next in our line up of Best of 2016 from Jim Carrey, we have the TV series "I'm Dying Up Here".

This series was ordered by Showtime and began shooting this fall. Each episode will have the standard 60 minutes length and will have 10 episodes which titles are:

Episode 1: Pilot
Episode 2: Midnight Special
Episode 3: The Cost Of A Free buffet
Episode 4: Sugar and Spice
Episode 5: The Return
Episode 6: Girls Are Funny Too
Episode 7: My Rifle My Pony and Me
Episode 8: The Unbelievable Power of Believing
Episode 9: Lingchi
Episode 10: Creative Indiferences

The dramedy will portrait the life and struggles of comedians in the Comedy stand-up scene of the 1970's and features actors Melissa Leo as Herschlag, a brassy comedy club owner; RJ Cyler as Adam Proteau, a struggling stand-up comedian; Ari Graynor as Cassie Feder, an ambitious comedian from Texas; Clark Duke as Ron Shack, Michael Angarano as Eddie Zeidel, ballsy young Boston-bred comics; Stephen Guarino as Sully Patterson, a zany stand-up comedian; Erik Griffin as Ralph King, a former Vietnam vet and comidian and Andrew Santino as Bill Hobbs, a comedy club favourite.

It will also have many interesting guest stars, like, Sebastian Stan as Clay Appuzzo, a funny and charming on-the-rise comedian; Dylan Baker as Johnny Carson; Robert Forster as Guy Appuzzo, the father of Clay; Cathy Moriarty as Angie Appuzzo, Clay's mother; Alfred Molina as Carl Veisor, a mediocre talent manager; just to name a few...

Jim Carrey is one of the executive producers of the show and has been working really hard on this project, even taking the actors to comedy clubs to help them research their roles.

There's no premiere date released yet although we know it will be announched in January by Showtime when they present their lineup for the year.

We at JCO are so excited for this TV series since it's a subject not yet explored in the current TV drama and TV comedy, we can see now on screen. We'll keep you updated as more news come.
