"Liar Liar" makes great start
27 Mar 1997 "Liar Liar" opened this past Friday (21th of March) in the U.S. and finished first at the box-office at the impressive amount of 32 million dollars (according to U.S. ticket sales estimates released on Sunday). It is the second best opening for a movie this year (the first was "Star Wars" with $35.91 million during the January 31-February 2 weekend) and it was also the second best result for a Carrey movie (the first was "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" with 36.5 million in November, 1995). The movie is having a very favorable word-of-mouth so there's a good chance it will top the 100 million mark.
