"The Majestic" shoot update, L.A.
11 Jun 2001

Film works for "The Majestic" are slowly reaching the finish line.

On June 20, the Warner Hollywood Studios will be the location of choice for another few takes. The sister studio to Burbank's Warner Bros Studio saw the light of day as early as 1920, when Hampton Studios needed to expand their growing business. It was later renamed into Pickford-Fairbanks Studios when owners Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks created movie classics such as "Robin Hood" there. In the 1950's, the studios became the Samuel Goldwyn Studios. Since 1980 it's the Warner Hollywood Studios with 7 sound stages and mainly used for filming TV series.

The Studios' East door at N. Formosa Ave could well be the background for the scene in which Pete leaves the HHS's studios to drown his sorrows at the (Formosa) Cafe across the street. (However, this is merely a JCO speculation.)

Also a night shoot is scheduled for June 20 at the Griffith Park, namely at Vista del Valle Dr., located East of the famous Hollywood sign.

Additionally, filming has been extended from June 10 to June 11 at two other locations, one of them L.A.'s Union Station.

Production is set to wrap on June 22nd now.
