According to 9/17/02's Buffalo News, Jim Carrey will not be appearing and filming "Bruce Almighty" in Buffalo, due to script revisions, budget cuts, and time constraints. However, although Carrey will not film on location, area residents interested in being movie extras can still have a chance as the revised script calls for a scene to be shot at the HSBC Arena in downtown Buffalo. The scene will be filmed prior to the start of next Saturday's Buffalo Sabres preseason home opener against the Ottawa Senators. More details of the shoot are still to be determined but audience members are asked to arrive at the arena at least an hour before the 6 p.m. scheduled start.
